DORADOnova MR3T - LASER SYSTEM FOR RADIATION ONCOLOGY MRI
MRI IN RADIATION THERAPY
MRI’s greatest asset is to be able to visualize tissue of similar density, but with different characteristics. A small brain lesion may not be visible on a CT image, but the MRI image will show the contrast between the two types of tissue. MRI does not use ionizing radiation, it is better suited for multiple examinations, paediatric patients or patients where the total body dose has to be limited or minimized.
MRI simulation requirements:
- DORADOnova MR3T
- AQUARIUS phantom
- Fusion software
- Compatible table top
LASER ALIGNMENT AND IMAGE FUSION FOR BETTER TREATMENT
Using an MRI in combination with the DORADOnova MR3T laser system offers accurate, fast and better matching with your CT images. Currently, the fusion of MR images with CT images allows the benefits of MRI to be used for contouring the PTV and identifying OAR. Dose calculation is done based on the CT or fusion matched CT image. Plan analysis can be done on either the CT dataset or the matched MR image set.
